I came across total barber on the Internet. Spoke to Steve who was a fantastic help. As I lived in Wales it was difficult to get up and see the facilities. Steve put me at ease with all the questions and information I required to do the course. I decided to bite the bullet and move up to London and do the 10 week Nvq course. After 10 fantastic weeks with the guys at total barber I felt my confidence grow. With some help from the guys, I decided to stay in London and get a job as a barber. With all the knowledge I gained from total barber I manged to get a job in the city of London, where I worked for a year. Knowing that barbering was  my new career. I left London to set up my own barber shop in my home town in Wales. I can honestly say that due to my experience with the guys at total barber and working in the city, it gave me the confidence to go and set up my own shop. Thanks guys for all your help

John Lyle had been to another London barber school but came to us as he felt he didn't learn what is needed to be a quality barber.

Thank you very much you have been a breath of fresh air.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Night and day compared to the other London academy I did the NVQ at who promise a lot and don't deliver.

Also good you learn in a laid back atmosphere compared  to the previous acadamy where the diva teacher's insecurities made for an atmosphere that could be cut with a knife.

I learned more in my first two cuts here than nine weeks at that other excuse for an acadamy that actually charge the customers on groupon - REALLY.

My TotalBarber  Shaving course consisted of a two day experience.

Day one was giving us details, theory and a little history on traditional hot towel shaving, topped off by shaving the balloons! Day 2 was a very hands on day of shaves in what felt like working in a barber shop! Ali was great fun and made the whole thing really relaxed and easy to learn.

I first came across TotalBarber online as my house mate is a barber and I wanted a change of career. I have been a nurse for 4 years, but decided barbering was more suitable for me.

When I arrived at the Total Barber academy I met the manager Shaun who gave me a real good insight in regards to the 9 week course. I felt the place had a real good atmosphere and and all of the staff had a real friendly nature, this made the course very appealing.  I knew straight away i would be happy learning here.

I have now completed the course and could not have had a better time. Learning was easy in the relaxed atmosphere as all the tutors are excellent.

I would recommend this course to anyone thinking about becoming a barber.

Barbering is something I'd always wanted to learn, seeing as my father and grandfather both were barbers, Its something that's been going strong for 2 generations in my family. I wanted to gain the NVQ qualification so i began a thorough search online to see what i could find, i found the total barber academy among several others an immediately began making phone calls to see what they had to offer, after listening to a few places i decided with my father to go and check them out. We visited Total Barber and both found it an instant hit after speaking with Pete he gave a clear insight into what the place was about so we decided to opt with them. 10 weeks later i can honestly say I am certain i made the right decision, not only have i gained the NVQ level 2 qualification but with the fantastic hands on approach practical system in place at the academy i gained confidence and the ability to cut at a very respectable level. I owe the team at Total Barber so much thanks for boosting my confidence and helping me achieve. They really are fantastic tutors and have helped me so much. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone thinking about pursuing a career in barbering so I just want to say thanks again

I was very pleased with the standards of TotalBarber. The whole gang were so helpful and it was great to learn from a handful of very skilled barbers.

The whole thing was a great experience and i have really enjoyed it.

The hard work had to be put in to get a good standard NVQ but it has been a great laugh throughout.

I have now got myself a job to go home too and i can't wait to start my new career as a barber.

Cutting and styling mens hair has always been something that interested me. Having worked in sales and recruitment for over 2 years I decided it was now time to take the leap and throw myself at something I was genuinely interested in. I approached Total Barber on the website and left a short message explaining my circumstances and what I was hoping to achieve.

I was called back the next day, when I spoke to both Pete and Steve about the course, contents and what to expect. Although it was a big step I felt reassured that if my ultimate goal was to become a high end barber then this was the course for me.

From the first day I arrived I have had so much fun,and I have learnt so much. Not only the techniques of how to cut and achieve a certain look, but more so the traditions and etiquette involved with barbering industry.

It is with a sad heart I leave the academy. Along the way I have met some brilliant people who I would now class as close friends. I would also like to thank the tutors for their continued support within the shop and pub!

If I could continue for another 10 weeks I would!

I always had an interest in hair and fashion even from a young age I was very image conscious and spent ages looking in mirrors lol . I left school and worked in fashion retail before I found a job in a hairdressers I wasn't there long unfortunately circumstances changed and I started work in the construction industry as a scaffolder but the love of hair and clothes never left me. After a long time of working hard in a job I hated and living a very full on party lifestyle  I got married had children and decided I wanted to do something for me.  I wanted a change. I had looked at TotalBarber countless times on line and decided to give them a call. The minute I spoke to Shaun I knew this was the place I wanted to train I keep to meet him and have a chat and I knew this was the place for me the relaxed nature of TotalBarber does not take anything away from the intense training and the passion shown for barbering by all the tutors I was amazed and still am by the amount I learnt every day there Ali and Shaun are not just fantastic barbers and amazing tutors they are there for you to lend a hand in whatever you need on a daily basis nothing is too much effort and if you give them a 100% they give you a 100% back. I'm writing this on my last day and I have job opportunities lined up in my local area and I'm looking at opening my own shop very soon. The only thing I can say is if your thinking of training at total barber stop thinking about it and do it you will never look back .

TotalBarber was a great course for me as it was very full on - no messing about barbering, you went straight into it. The tutors are there to help you and guide you. They are very passionate themselves and considering the price and length of the course expect you to be as well. They are there to help you and those wanting it will receive it , it was a full on training course but now after opening and running my own barbers for the last year I'm so glad it was like that. It's a tough business and you need the right training or you won't succeed. TotalBarber is a great course and I'm so glad I choose them, they gave me options, ideas and the confidence to go straight into running my own barbers.

Thanks boys .

I took redundancy from my career job of 17 years to become a barber.

It was vital to me having taken such a massive step that I gave myself the best possible opportunity of achieving this goal.

I researched the various colleges and academy's where I could gain the NVQ level 2 Barber qualification and TB stood out. I knew from my first chat with Pete and subsequent visit to see TB that this was the place for me. I was so impressed with the energy, enthusiasm and professional set up I signed up for the full time course the next day. Some weeks later and with a huge amount of trepidation I arrived for my first day. From then I didn't look back once and I want to say a massive thank you to Steve, Pete, Shaun and Sheila for enabling me to realise my goal. It's an amazing thing that 10 weeks ago I hadn't even held scissors, comb or clippers and now next week I am starting a job which I found on week 8 of the course. If you are reading this and thinking about signing up don't hesitate. Its hard work and there can be ups, downs and the odd wobble but under the brilliant guidance and support of all the tutors at TB you will not only gain your NVQ but get an invaluable insight into what it takes to be a quality barber. You will have a fantastic time doing it too!
