I started this course with 0 experience in barbering and travelled from Ireland to do it. The entire staff made me feel more welcome than I had ever anticipated , it’s almost like it’s own crazy family in a way. From a barbering point of view, I couldn’t have started my career in a better way and I would definitely recommend this course to anyone in a position to try it. Between Shaun, Josh, H, Jack, Stella and all the staff, I was helped tailor my own way in Barbering and learn from each member of the experience team. They were all professional, skilled, honest people who helped me develop into a confident and competent Barber. They knew where and when to push and test you, thankfully they’ve nurtured me into position that one year on from the course I am running my own shop. Top class barbers top class teachers top class people I will always remember my time in TB has one of my favourite life experience PS thanks to all at TB for a super time.

TotalBarber Rocks!!!! The NVQ level two course it’s a fast track no-nonsense course that you have you on the shopfloor cutting real hairs within two weeks. You will laugh and you will cry but above all you’ll be receiving fantastic training classic and contemporary barbering in aspiring environment. No bad teachers here. These guys are amazing! Great vibes! Great students! Great music! Excellent course overall it’s a very amusing nights out in the Griffin pub! As our course came to an end the teachers did their best to guide us to how to apply for jobs what to say and how to deal with skills tests. Within two weeks I secured a job as a high-end barber shop in Canterbury. TB is not a job agency but they did everything they could to help us. I want to say associate thank you to Captain Steve, Shaun, Mr H and Josh. You are all absolutely outstanding in every way and I will never forget you nor my time at TB. Despite all the hard work there’s a lot of laughs! At 52 years of age and having spent grinding 27 years in construction, my life now is totally changed for the better. if you are seriously thinking about training as a barber then do it at Total Barber they are the best. And remember that whatever happens and wherever you end up you’ll always be a TotalBarber!
I was a student at Total Barber from February to the end of April. I can honestly say it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. To anyone thinking of taking a barbering course, even if you’ve never picked up a pair of scissors or clippers before this place is perfect for you.I done the full 10 week NVQ course the tutors are absolutely amazing and make you feel at ease as soon as you walk in the door on the first day as well as continually building your confidence throughout the course. I was thrilled I can feel my confidence cause grow by the week. I finished the course feeling very good about myself and definitely felt ready to start work at the barbershop to which I’m now working in a well established shop near shop where I live.
Another great thing about TB is that they are very flexible. It is more than possible to do the course whilst maintaining a job. You can spread the course by attending a few days. Back to the tutors, the teaching style is laid-back but nevertheless very informative, they all bring something different to the table and they’re all equally brilliant in what they do. All have the patience of a saint and are genuinely great guys. Thank you H Josh Shaun and Steve. You have given me the skills for a lifelong career I am barber!

I first came across TotalBarber online as my house mate is a barber and I wanted a change of career. I have been a nurse for 4 years, but decided barbering was more suitable for me.
When I arrived at the Total Barber academy I met the manager Shaun who gave me a real good insight in regards to the 9 week course. I felt the place had a real good atmosphere and and all of the staff had a real friendly nature, this made the course very appealing. I knew straight away i would be happy learning here.
I have now completed the course and could not have had a better time. Learning was easy in the relaxed atmosphere as all the tutors are excellent.

TotalBarber was a great course for me as it was very full on - no messing about barbering, you went straight into it. The tutors are there to help you and guide you. They are very passionate themselves and considering the price and length of the course expect you to be as well. They are there to help you and those wanting it will receive it , it was a full on training course but now after opening and running my own barbers for the last year I’m so glad it was like that. It’s a tough business and you need the right training or you won’t succeed. TotalBarber is a great course and I’m so glad I choose them, they gave me options, ideas and the confidence to go straight into running my own barbers.

I took redundancy from my career job of 17 years to become a barber.
It was vital to me having taken such a massive step that I gave myself the best possible opportunity of achieving this goal.
I researched the various colleges and academy’s where I could gain the NVQ level 2 Barber qualification and TB stood out. I knew from my first chat with Pete and subsequent visit to see TB that this was the place for me. I was so impressed with the energy, enthusiasm and professional set up I signed up for the full time course the next day. Some weeks later and with a huge amount of trepidation I arrived for my first day. From then I didn’t look back once and I want to say a massive thank you to Steve, Pete, Shaun and Sheila for enabling me to realise my goal. It’s an amazing thing that 10 weeks ago I hadn’t even held scissors, comb or clippers and now next week I am starting a job which I found on week 8 of the course. I came across total barber on the Internet. Spoke to Steve who was a fantastic help. As I lived in Wales it was difficult to get up and see the facilities. Steve put me at ease with all the questions and information I required to do the course. I decided to bite the bullet and move up to London and do the 10 week NVQ course. After 10 fantastic weeks with the guys at total barber I felt my confidence grow. With some help from the guys, I decided to stay in London and get a job as a barber. With all the knowledge I gained from total barber I managed to get a job in the city of London, where I worked for a year. Knowing that barbering was my new career. I left London to set up my own barber shop in my home town in Wales. I can honestly say that due to my experience with the guys at total barber and working in the city, it gave me the confidence to go and set up my own shop. Thanks guys for all your help.

John Lyle had been to another London barber school but came to us as he felt he didn’t learn what is needed to be a quality barber.Thank you very much you have been a breath of fresh air. just what the doctor ordered.Night and day compared to the other London academy I did the NVQ at who promise a lot and don’t deliver.Also good you learn in a laid back atmosphere compared to the previous academy where the diva teacher’s insecurities made for an atmosphere that could be cut with a knife. I learned more in my first two cuts here than nine weeks at that other excuse for an academy that actually charge the customers on groupon - REALLY.”
